— An estimated 4,000 people came out to the Village of Goshen’s first annual Summer Festival last Saturday, according to Mayor Kyle Roddey.

The event featured a 1,000-foot water slide down North Church Street, and on a sunny, 80-degree day, over 2,500 bathing suit-clad kids — and plenty of adults — enjoyed rides in the cool water.

“It was a wonderful day made possible by various community groups working together,” Roddey said.

The festival also included live music, face-painting and a health, fitness, and wellness expo. The Goshen Rotary, The Goshen Chamber of Commerce, the Goshen Fire Department and Village of Goshen Police Department were all instrumental in hosting the event.

The water slide is part of Slide the City, a traveling event which comes to cities across North America.
