— Morgan Taylor had the time of her life in the Bronx on the evening of May 26.

That’s when the 10-year-old Yankees fan and her family were guests of Con Edison at the company’s 50th annual Yankees Kid Night at Yankee Stadium. Each year for 50 years, Con Edison has treated deserving youngsters from each of its service regions to free admission to a game.

Morgan, a student at Goshen Intermediate School, was nominated for the Yankee Kids program by the YMCA of Middletown where she participates in the Kids Fit program. Orange and Rockland Utilities, a Con Edison subsidiary, sponsored Morgan this year.

Con Edison Yankee Kids must demonstrate the values of service, honesty, concern, courtesy, excellence and teamwork. They must have a grade average of “B” or better, show strong leadership and sportsmanship skills and serve as a role model for their peers.

After a tour of the awesome new ballpark with other Yankee Kids, Morgan enjoyed all the hot dogs and popcorn she could eat and settled in to watch the game from a luxury skybox with her family and the group’s Yankee host, legendary All-Star center fielder Mickey Rivers.

Although the evening’s final score was Oakland A’s 4 and the Yankees 1, the night was a real winner for Morgan Taylor.
