Orange County Land Trust raises close to $125,000 at annual benefit reception

CENTRAL VALLEY — The Orange County Land Trust held its annual benefit reception on June 2 at the Falkirk Estate & Country Club, raising close to $125,000 to support its mission of conserving Orange County’s wildlife habitats, viable farmlands and watersheds.

Three hundred people attended the event to celebrate honorees William Brown and Barbara Felton of Warwick-based Lowland Farm.

The event’s theme, “Rooted in Giving: The Journey of a Conserved Farm,” celebrated Brown and Felton for their dedication to land conservation and their committed mentorship of farmers at the Chester Agricultural Center.

“We are grateful," said Orange County Land Trust Executive Director James Delaune, "to everyone who joined us that evening, our generous sponsors, and those who dedicated their time and effort in making the reception one of our best to date including, our benefit chair, the Ralph E. Ogden Foundation, the Land Trust staff and board of directors, event organizer Caroline Hamling,and the Benefit Committee.”
