What a kick off to spring

  • These three are all smiles while taking a break from playing catch at the Spring Fling. From left is Village of Goshen  Patrolman Brian Kelly, two-and-a-half year old Carter Lamison, and Village of Goshen Patrolman Rob Kozlowski.

  • Esther Zaccone, owner of Sew EZ Creations, is happy to offer her homemade crafts at the Spring Fling.

  • Lee Czaplinski (back to camera) talks with Randy Faurot about his 1930 Buick, which was a five-window coupe. After changes that he did himself, Czaplinski named it “Buford” because it’s now part Buick and part Ford. Czaplinski lives in Campbell Hall.

The Goshen Chamber of Commerce, Village of Goshen, and Illuminate Goshen asked for help in “Kicking-off Spring!” And they got lots of help from residents who came to the first ever “Spring Fling” on Saturday, May 20, on the Village Green.

On hand were crafters, such as Goshen’s Esther Zaccone with Sew EZ Crafts, live music from The Shifters from Monroe, plenty of old and classic cars on display, motorcycles, fun, and food — good food!

“We had a successful Spring Fling,” said the Goshen Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director Terry Smallin. “We’re pleased with the show, and the attendance was great. The weather was a little uncertain in the morning, but as the sky opened up and the sun shined through, attendance increased. For our first year, we’re pleased with the number of cars for the car show and the number of people who came. Everything went smoothly, and we’re looking to improve next year.”
