The youth of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church participated in a week of Vacation Bible Service — a modified Vacation Bible School program focusing on service.

On Monday, the students made homemade chicken noodle soup and delivered it to senior members of the church. Tuesday, they created a garden and spruced up the dog trail at the Warwick Humane Society creating a garden and sprucing up their dog trail, while on Wednesday, they made cookies for the local police and fire departments of Chester and Warwick.

Service projects for the rest of the week included making cards and buying stuffed animals for residents of the Park Manor Nursing Home.

This was a test program for the church, modifying the standard VBS format to focus more on service and getting the older youth of the church more involved.
