— Citizens for Valley View is holding a "peaceful gathering and public rally" on June 8 at 2 p.m. on the Village of Goshen Green, adjacent to the First Presbyterian Church.

Citizens for Valley View is an ad hoc committee formed to stop the sale of the Valley View Nursing Home, which has been an Orange County-owned and -operated institution for the past 183 years. "We support keeping this vital service an Orange County owned and operated asset forever," said a Citizens press release.

Invited speakers include Orange County representatives of labor, CSEA, civic organizations, and Orange County political and religious leaders.

Any political leader or member of the clergy who wishes to speak at the gathering may contact Frank C. at 562-0941 or forthebirds39@verizon.net.

"We care deeply about our seniors and those in need," the release said. "We honor and revere those who serve them. It’s the goal of Citizens for Valley View to keep it that way. Valley View belongs to the people."

Musical entertainment will be provided by Alice Shane. For more information see the group's Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/cfvvc.
