— Orange County will host the 2014 Hudson Valley Walk to Cure Arthritis at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery on Saturday, May 3.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus has been selected to serve as emcee for the event, which is sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation.

More than 50 million Americans suffer from arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation is a nonprofit organization that funds life-changing research that has restored mobility in patients for more than six decades; fights for healthcare policies that improve the lives of the millions who live with arthritis; and partners with families to provide empowering programs and information.

“I am honored to have been invited to emcee this important event," Neuhaus said. "Arthritis is our nation’s leading cause of disability, affecting 300,000 children and one in every five adults. By participating in the Hudson Valley Walk to Cure Arthritis, we can help to raise awareness and reduce the impact of this painful condition. I will be leading a group of participants called Team Orange at the Walk and I invite you to join me on May 3."

County Executive Steve Neuhaus will be leading a walk team called “Team Orange."

The event is sponsored by Crystal Run Healthcare, Orange Regional Medical Center, Cool Insurance Agency, Zimmer, Flannery Animal Hospital, Pfizer, Keane and Beane, Stanley Marks and Co., and Feldman, Kleidman, Coffey, Sappe and Regenbaum.
