The Orange County legislature will vote on forming a committee to develop the Valley View nursing home property when it meets this Thursday, June 6, at 3 p.m. in the county government center, 255 Main St., Goshen.
The idea of forming a committee was discussed during the last meeting of the full legislature.
Legislator Mike Anagnostakis, who has long championed keeping Valley View under county ownership, said L. Stephen Brescia is set to chair the new committee. Brescia is chair of the legislature.
Some members of the public have expressed fears that the county is planning to sell the nursing home (see photo).
Anagnostakis said if Valley View is to be sold, it is not imminent.
